Post by: highrisedrifter on August 21, 2007, 08:38 PM
Could someone tell me what year this is please? I don't have the serial number to hand.

I'm going to put it on Ebay and want to make sure I give out the right info.

many thanks

I'd guess an '85, platform at top of toptube and 4 holes in drop out.... serial number is key though, 3rd and 4th numbers are the year from memory

Nice that fella, I'd have had that off you if I hadn't just got a chrome 87 off Rob (rarman1), always the same, you wait a while and then two of the fekkers come along!

Yes I would say 85-86 I think the 87 one had the brake cable guides under the down tube.

late 84-early 86

late 84 was the introduction of the slightly lower footplate, beefed up forks and cable guide. 86 saw the 2nd brake stay behind bb

That platform looks high - is it level with the top tube or in the centre?

It could be possible that the frame is 84 and the forks 85

No idea at the moment mate. I'll get it out of the garage when I get home and have a look. I think it might just be the angle of the photograph though.

Looks like an '85 to me, I'd guess you'll find the serial number under the BB

As per my first post, the frame and forks are for sale but I was going to put them on Ebay to hopefully maximise the amount I can get for them. Cash is tight this month due to being knocked off my motorbike by that drunken loon and having to fork out money on policy excess, new helmet etc.

Can anyone help me on the date of the frame please? The third and fourth numbers in the serial don't help me much.

Many thanks

Is the serial # on the rear dropout or on the bottom of the bottom bracket tube?

On the bottom of the BB itself.

Seeing as i've never sold anything by Ebay before, it may take some time to work out how to do it. Then the f&f is going on there.
