Yeah the downside on the quarter is fkn amazing...! Who was the guy pulling the frontflip flair at last years Xgames though?
Also worth checking the Etnies Grounded vid if your a bestwick fan... I think Grant put a link on here last week... :daumenhoch:

loose 8)

the best vert rider ever! everyone refers to trails riders when they talk about style but jamie's right up there.
keith mcHelinney is the guy who did the front flip flair.
-
i remember going to comps to watch and the crowd went mental if anyone even attempted a flair (whether they nailed it or not)...bestwicks are mental in that
-
The thing that always blows me away about JB and it's a really simple thing is the hang time and how far he carves.....awesome rider!
Daz.

bestwick is amazing, one of my favourite riders :daumenhoch:
good to see him getting the recognition he deserves like, i always thought he got overlooked during all the mirra hype, imo jb's the better rider,
team levis though? :wtf:
come on! seriously! i cant be the only one to notice this :LolLolLolLol:
the skate companies are one thing,dc&vans have (in there own way) helped bmx over the years, certainly in terms of shoe technology anyway,
but nike and now levis! these are two of the shittiest most corrupt companies on the planet.
the only reason theyre in bmx now is because of its "trendy" extreme sports image, full stop.
i actually feel like i'm wasting my time typing all this to be honest, no one else seems to even give a shit or even notice these corporate bullyboys raping the arse of our sport,
you mark my words, theyll make a fooking circus of it :daumenhoch:
just like they did in the 80's
then it'll cease being "trendy"
and they'll dump it again,
just like they did in the 90's
anyways........... :-X
-
Yeah I think we should have stayed with Lee Coopers :daumenhoch:
Seriously though unfortunatly when things get popular big companies are going to try and cash in, and thats just the way of the world :(
-
i know what you mean bill, it just makes me bristle a bit is all :LolLolLolLol:
thats why i didnt say anything about the rider on "team levis" fair play to them taking the contracts like, the positive thing to come from it is that "pro" riders are starting to be able to actually make a living from there riding, risks ,etc,
one of the cool things about bestwick was that he was on the zooyork team, wonder if levis let that roll :LolLolLolLol:
amazing riding though :daumenhoch:
"rides vert ramps like trails"

dont ask me how I know... ::)
but there is a full featured interview & pics in the september issue of penthouse magazine.
What other bmxer can say they achieved that!
-
I`ve see a few videos of Jamie at Woodwood, and with out any added sound track you can hear just how smooth he is :daumenhoch:
And with regards to Levis it`s just a case of the riders that make a living out of riding getting the best deal they can imho :-\
-
joe tbh mate you are so right in what your saying,
what the fook has these big corperate companies got to do with bmx >:(
but it's a no win situation, we want the sport to grow in 2007 and you need
the backing to promote this to it's max, this is where the big companies come in,
it's great looking in ride mag and seeing adverts of local rider owned products
but that's where it'll stay, my opinion would be take these big comps for every penny
to forward what we want, kinda reverse psychology ;)
-
we're all older and wiser now so lets rape these companies instead of them raping us!
no one can begrudge the likes of jamie earning a living out of something they love so much :)
-
Loving the allyoop no hander and allyoop 540. Not easy to twist allyoop and land smoothly....
One of my first memories from 93 when I rediscovered BMX was a clip from Headfirst on that High5 programme of Mat doing a big allyoop no hander. :4_17_5:
-
headfirst the vert riders bible :)

aye, take them for every penny you can.

headfirst the vert riders bible :)
Oh yeah. If I could ever do 10% of those variations I'd die a very, very happy man.
