Title: S&M Heavy as F**k, all finished
Post by: SaMAlex on September 08, 2007, 12:53 AM
I just got done finishing this. Its a NOS S&M Heavy as F**k that was found in a bike shop a few weeks ago. After a few deals I got the frame (thanks General Lee) and got on with building it. I had already started gathering Heavy parts, many of which were old parts of mine I used to use. The wheelset and the bars and seat were all on past bikes of mine, and could probably do with more of a clean than I gave them.

I wanted to make it nice and heavy but there is nothing on there for a joke. It is build up just as a bike of the early 90s might have been. I was going to put a grind disk on it (which might have been just for weight) but it didnt fit on the 22.2 BB spindle.

The frame is real short, its got an 18" top tube! It feels very 90s flatland, esp with the low, almost zero sweep bars. I am intending to take it to a mini ramp and have a roll on it (I cant see it coming off the ground!). I cant tell you what it does weigh cos I dont have any scales at home.

Here's what on it:

S&M HAF frame
S&M "stupid" forks
S&M 1" clamp on redneck
S&M castilo bars
Profile SS cranks
King chainring
Primo tenderiser pedals
PE hubs on Phat Alex rims (LHD)
V Monster tyers
Primo rod seat post
S&M large shield seat
GT double clamp
DC FS990 front and rear
DC Tech 77 levers (odd ones cos its all I could find)
Oddy dynatron headset
Roughneck grips
Chrome steel pegs
ORYG detangler

Thanks to General Lee for hooking up the frame deal (and the peg deal). Dingo for the cranks, Fuzzynod for the chainring, stodgy for the tyres and to HEYWOOD BMX  for the oryg. Very nice of all of ya.

Thanks, that is a nice chainring. I could have got heavier with it, Ive got a totally solid KINK chainring but I thought the King would be nicer.

ditch that horrible cable tie round the gyro cable, pop a wee bit of bluetack or something under it.

Wow. Gogo, thats pretty pickey. Is that what you do with all your show bikes? haha.

It is a horrid cable tie. Its a fat re-usable one and its all I could find at the time. It covers up the cool stickers so I probably should do something about it.

I still havent weighed the bike yet.
