Title: Replacement springs for Tektro U brake
Post by: Stevo on September 18, 2007, 05:58 PM

Need a new spring for this front brake – left side.

Thought I should try to source new springs first, rather buy a new brake. Saw Dia-Compe spings on Alan's not sure if they will fit. Does anyone know if they will? Cheers

the springs on that are completely covered by the adjuster if thats correct! i think (don't quote me on it) other u brake types might not fit. i seem to remember trying something similar a while back. however i may have a pair of those exact spings in the shed. i'll have a look later and get back to you

Cheers mate, my local bike shop took at look at the brake and left spring inside needs replacing, because when you tighten it to add tension, it pops out of the holes. Hopefully someone on here will have spare springs.
