Title: dialled bikes Titanium Cruiser Frame
Post by: dialledbikes on September 21, 2007, 11:46 AM
A few people asked to be informed if I ever thought of putting the Ti cruisers into production. I can't remember who everyone was/or their real names, so if you were one of those people, please drop me an e-mail or PM as I "might" be getting a limited run of 10 frames made over winter. It's not meant to be a limited edition frame or anything (though by default it probably will be quite rare, as I won't be selling these frames in hundreds).

I'd just like to get an idea as to who is serious about buying one and prepared to pay a deposit before I throw lots of money at the frame builder!

If anyone is interested, I have ridden mikes Ti bike, and I have to say its one of the sweetest bikes I have ever ridden.

Joe, I'll e-mail the pics to you later from my laptop at home.  Feel free to add them to the thread as I don't have anywhere to host them.

Thanks to the guys above who have seen the frame and can attest to its ride/quality.

I know how to do the photo loading stuff, I just don't have an account anymore and too lazy to bother with it again.  I used to have a fotopic account with loads of pics on it, but got pee'd off with fotopic falling over all the time, and eventually lost interest in it when it lost hundreds of photos permanently.

I'll send the photos to Joe and hopefully he will do the honours  ;)

Jai, the frames will be [deep breath] £650 [/deep breath].  Not cheap I know, and I know they're not everyone's cup of tea.  It's a quality product though - had numerous national, euro and world finalists on the 20" versions since they came out almost 3 years ago, and no problems with any of the frames either.

Hope no one sees this thread as me trying to cold sell them to anyone.  It really was just a post to get those people who had expressed an interest to me over the last year about them to get in touch if they're still interested.

I made a point of not riding Mike's bike last weekend purely because I could afford the cost of the frame, however the divorce it would lead to would probably mean I'd have to sell it.  :LolLolLolLol:

It was pure sex on wheels though.

That looks so so nice ... AND its ti!

Thanks for the props fellas  :daumenhoch:

When I designed the 20" version, I simply wanted to design the best BMX race frame ever.  I know that's a pretty bold and subjective target cos you can't please everyone.  But when Simon Hayes (ex Hutch factory rider) described it as "the most inspiring BMX frame I have seen since I first set eyes on a PK Ripper in Alpine Action in 1980" and Percy Owens (ex Profile USA AA Pro) said it was the most amazing BMX frame he had ever ridden, I was quite pleased.

It just seemed natural to design myself a Ti cruiser.

Glad you all like it as much as I do.

Mike, who's making them for you?  Do you know I bring Lynskey Ti frames in from the US?  I just set up a limited production of Orange Vit T frames for Michael Bonney from Lynskey, they look sweet.  It's all £2K road frames mostly.....

Hi Mark.  I only got 4 sets of cruiser bars made (before I was really racing cruiser) so I gave them all away for people to test.  I think Sutty and Adi Warden got a set, and I can't remember who got the other 2 sets.  They're ready to go into production, I just haven't done it yet.  There's 2 sizes, 5" and 5.75" rise.  I've got S&M race bars on the Ti proto.

Sutty passed them on Mike and I tried them the other week, perfect  :4_17_5:
If you get more made put my name down please
 :) DINGO :)

I didn't realise the new Oranges were Lynskey made.  They look nice.  I get my stuff made by one of the established Ti factories in Taiwan.  They mainly make road and mountain bike stuff too.  I've been using them since 2003 for MTB frames and 2005 for BMX frames.  Had about 120 frames out of them since 2003.

Will do mate.  I think Sutty had a set of the first ones, which were 5.75" rise.  Flem was the person who suggested I should do them in 2 sizes.

Post by: Dingobmxer on September 21, 2007, 10:57 PM
you should do them in two sizes with 12 degree pull back and 28" wide the same as Slams because S&M cruiser bars are different dimensions to Slams and you would be on to a winner with those who own 20's and 24's

 :) DINGO :)

Airbornes were made in China, Joe.  I did know the name of the factory, but can't for the life of me remember it right now.

Yeah, Linko have made the Marins and the Oranges, you going to the London show?  I'll be with USE on the amba stand with a Lynskey trying to sign some dealers up so come say hi.

Mike, I love your cruiser, and would love to have one.

If any of my claims go though in the next couple of months I'll deffo have one too. (Going to tribunal for illegal employment termination and also a claim for my wrist injury. Only prob is that these could take another year to go through :( )

It would be a mean weapon for my attack on the 40+ crowser class next year!

Another  :daumenhoch: from someone who doesn't normally like cruisers but had a go on Mike's Ti at Hersden, it's fantastic and a thrill to ride.

Anyone fancy a sweepstake on which round of the 40+ Roonga crashes in and breaks something.

I'll start by playing it safe and saying round 1.  :LolLolLolLol:

hahaha!

LMAO

I aint gonna be falling off any more. (I hope)

Whether or not I'll be fit is another thing as I'm having the wrist done Thursday, and I'll be in a cast for at least 6 weeks.

Gonna need loads of training from the end of November right through to the start of the summer season - But this all depends on the success of the op.
