I don't think there is a difference I think I read that the X was just a higher spec as a complete bike :-\

Yup read that the 280 was so called as cost $280 (from alans website)and that the 280x was better specced wasn't sure if that was all, now to decide which decals ;)

There were 3 bikes in the 1982 Torker range when these came out - the 280,  a smaller version of the 280 and the 280X.  The 280X was the pro model and an inch longer than the 280..... ;)

I had the smaller version which was a Magnum 200 again so called I think because of the price tag like the 280, had round gusset hole. If anyone has one with a IG11 postcode stamped on the bottom???

The frame and fork only option was LP/X. i think you'll find the top tubes were 18 and 19? there was an inch difference anyway. my 86 280x is 19.5 though.

On another note check out craigs link to Juilans site there. Prices on stuff? 25 nicker for MX1000s  :daumenhoch:
