Can someone tell me what the difference is between a V brake lever and a Canti brake lever???????
-
a v-brake pulls more cable than a canti,
levers wont swap over because of this :daumenhoch:
-
cheers, still confused as I think I have a U brake on my new school bike, can i use either for this????
-
it'll likely be a u-brake if its a N/S bike,
you can use a v-lever but it will feel harder to pull the brake on as it wont create enough leverage,
if i were you i'd just get a regular canti/caliper pull lever,
tech 77's are legend,
odyssey's are good,
if you get stuck give us a shout :daumenhoch:

cheers, i'm after a green lever and have found a shop on ebay that is selling both v and canti type but they look the same.
Im sure I have also seen levers that have a switch that converts from one to the other?????

the shitmano's from a few years back had a little adjuster to make them a bit better with a canti brake, have a look at the deore/dx/ type with the folded, not cast type lever blade,
there are others that will run both and just have two seperate barrell slots for both types of brake, snafu's used to,
if you want a green canti pull lever i'm fairly sure fly are making one :daumenhoch:
possibly colony too,
check that the one you want to buy is definitely suitable for pulling a U/canti brake, if its dedicated v-brake you'll need fingers like fred west to get the brake to lock on good :LolLolLolLol:
