Title: Best old school freestyle brakes? Help.
Post by: JT71 on October 16, 2007, 10:14 AM
I'm sure someone here can help me.

I'm looking ot get a set of freestyle brakes for messing around on my latest build.
It's going to have Zytec wheels, so I need something that's gonna stop me, and I'm a big boy.

What would you recommend?

I'm torn between the Bulldog set and the 880/901 freestyle set up.

any advice greatly appreciated.

if you're gouing for performance rather than era correctness then go for Bulldogs, I always prefer them or DC Nippons

sorry i can't advize you on brakes but more inporttant will be the brake blocks.......i'm guessing you've got a set of white (ish) Zytecs?  get yourself some new white Tuff pads, these will help you get the most out of the brakes......i run Zytecs on my streetbeat and my brakes work fine.  DC 901's I think  :-\

Cheers dudes.

well I'll give the 901/880 setup a try and if it's not good enough I'll use them on something else and get the Bulldogs for this.
