Here's one of my fave pairs, made by mexicans in orange county california, Official NBL World Champ low tops (style 95?) Show us your faves!

These are a pair that I've had for about 15 years, another pair I can't bear to throw out, they smell a bit but have plenty of life left in them!

Im Vans Size 9 now. My first pair were black and white slip ons (to go with my diamond back race gear) in size 4. I got them from Alpine Action in notting hill. I remember sitting down at the bench outside McDonalds to put them on, and the brand new waffel soles were really tackey.

Awesome, I used to go to Alpine when they had BMX in the basement in high stret ken, the stuff they had was just sick, I wet my pants there and my family had a bike shop! I know what youi mean about tacky Alex, I just got a set of white slips on off the bay that are US made and they even feel tacky despite the fact they're proper NOS! I was sponsored by Vision and Dyno for footwear when I raced but I used to just get white low tops, cut the vans label off and put the Dyno laces in!

For me vans are like comp 3's, nothing better has ever come along......

used to go to alpine action every week for 40p return but they never ever had any vans so had to go to surrey skates, used to catch the 9am train at get in surrey skates at 3pm. it was a big world out there then

I bought my Mike Buff signature Aero pants there, red white and blue with red stars down the side!

Then get the tube to waterloo and get another train to Surry skates ... oh surry BMX ... no, now its surry skates again. We would just look at stuff for an hour or so, and then get the train home.

I do remember when I went to surry BMX to get my Haro sport (84, torker made I think). This time we went to Apline Action on the way back and all the lads in there were checking out my new frame, testin the pencil thin back end for flex. I was only a skinny 14 year old. They could have just helped them selves to it and I could have done nothing about it! haha.

oh, back to the thread.... Ive just taken loads of shoe pics. I'll post them tomorrow.

bubbs went down to surrey skates for a gen 1 and came out with a vdc changa :LolLolLolLol: always seemed ruff around alpine action but there stock was always pucka, i got some alpine stickers off of one of the guys that used to work there last year, but always remember big erol for giving you your weekly big slap just for going in his shop

Rowley XL III's, Old Skools, Era Navy & Yellow, Sk8-Hi Black, White and 80's print with pink soles :-*
Era Too White w/ Red Navy Check, Era Too Silver w/Silver Turquoise check (match my 06 Sport lovely), Old Skools again and Era Navy w/ Navy White check.

I used to get my Vans from Rom bitd, had a Green & Yellow pair then Red and Green and the last pair were baby blue and white check with baby pick and white check. Ahh the 80's ;D

I've been after a pair of the Sk8-Hi's in the 2 tone blue for ages but never find them in a size 9. I think I need some slip ons too.

Ditto (and ditto what Alex said too). I lived up North in the 80s, but whenever I came South to visit relatives I always made them take me to Alpine at High Street Ken so drool over stuff we just never saw in JE James, Langsett and AB Wheels (our local bike shops in Sheffield).

I bought my first proper number plate from Alpine. An MCS Hot Plate. I'd always had Halfords dinner plates before that.

I know where Im going tomorrow! There is a TK Max just round the corner from me. They only seem to have good shoes in there 1 in every 10 visits. Its gotta be time for a winner by now!
