I have found a set of Hoffman bars but not sure if they are patriot or low drag. The ones I have are close in width to old haro kneesavers, with a little less rise. They also have holes on the ends of the bottom tube. Anyone know the measurements on the patriots or drags? Thanks, Alan.

Patriot Bars are 27 3/4 wide with a 6 inch rise

scrap that these are later 2s sorry

I didn't think they looked anything like each other.... Patriot bars are pretty big, no funky bends or owt, but with a slightly dropped crossbar. I'd be surprised if they were only a 6" rise :-\ I'd say more like 7.5 - 8, summat like that. They felt like cowhorns to me ;D
Check out Fuzzynod's Condor in the museum. They be Patriot bars :daumenhoch:
-
early lowdrags were just a tad narrower than patriots but looked the same.
-
But much lower I thought??
-
yes about 2" lower 2" narrower but stodgy might no or fuzz or egg

Yeah, that makes sense. 8" rise or threabouts for the Patriots, and 6" ish for t'lowdrags. :)
-
I looked at the Condor in the museum. They do look much taller than 6". The bars in question have about a .5" less rise than old Haro Kneesavers. Thanks. :)
-
they look identical but have a different height, width and sweep.i can't find the dimensions though.

Are Patriot Bars, Scud Bars with a freestyle type cross bar... ie Forklifter knock offs?
-
yeah pretty much, patriots replaced the scud bar and you can see the forklifter influence.
-
Cheers mate :daumenhoch:
So, who wants to sell a set of Scud bars?

Easier to find than Scud Bars I spent nearly a year looking til Two Bob hooked me up with the Patriots
Good luck Dude

If your looking for scud bars you'll also need one of the wider stems of the day. the reason for this is the knurling on the scud bars was just two rings. if your using something like a dk or fusion stem then they was narrow and not wide enough to grip the knurling, resulting in loads of slip. the patriot bars had wider band or bands (depending upon the age) of knurling and was therefore a much better choice of bar. be happy with those.

From memory Low Drags are 7.5" rise and 25" wide...Patriots are about an inch higher and a couple of inches wider...if I could get off my lazy butt I'd go and measure some for ya...
-
I think if I remeber patriots are arround 9" tall and lowdrags were 6.75?
-
Definitely not as low as 6.75", I'm sure I measured my set to 7.5" from center of the lower tube to centre of the grip tube. The two sets I had are now with Firebird and Madd Dog...so can't measure them again, but I've got some patriots upstairs
Scud Bars were 28" wide by 9"rise and I believe that the Patriots were exactly the same size apart from the revised cross bar (and the fact they didn't break!)
This is pulled from some handlebar resource page:
