There are currently no BMX tracks in the West Midlands and with the sport now included in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, councillors felt the track would do a great service to the town
??? ??
what about nuneaton (mini track i know) and Birmingham Wheels?
theres a huge effort being put in at wheels to get it going.
track was rebuilt agggeees ago, and is maintained. Although the money hasnt been gotten together for surfacing so it does ride the best on bmx's just yet.
But a few weeks ago when I was down there, the few guys down at the club built some verry good dirt jumps.
there is a mtb northshore & a litte singletrack are too.
and there are plans for a skatepark aswell!

The coment on 'no tracks in the west Mids' relates to no National or even regional standard BMX tracks in the West Mids. We dont have any races in the West Mids we have to travel to Mansfield, Nottigham, Sheffield for a regional race. Even for gate practise. The redditch plans will change that. If it all happens it will be one of the best tracks if not the best track in the UK, so fingers crossed :daumenhoch:

fingers crossed :daumenhoch:

a water jump ? really!
We're not to sure about this yet. If its possible to put in without to much hassle we will. We want a unique feature on the new track. The old track had the infamous bomb hole, but the proposed site for the new track is flat so Daz O said if we cant have a bombhole we'll have a water jump in the design. I think it will be cool, rail the first corner on the pro section and nail that 10 metre water jump, no messing, go big or go home Pro's >:D
-
10m water jump? Shouldn't it be "Go big or get wet".
Looks a mental track mind.
-
The water jump will screw most of our junior/pros up as they wont be able to manuel through it!!!!

Just found out the council have given the go ahead for the track to be built. Meant to be starting building next year :daumenhoch:
