-

cheers Bob was hoping you'd know :)
-
I'm going down there this afternoon, i'll have a word with Dave and see if he has any old pics.
-
Anyone know what happened to the OT cycles website? It used to list some Old school bits but the guy (Paul?) who dealt with it lived in France and only used to come over once a month so you had to email him and wait a while. Even so got a few good bits, but seems to have disappeared now?
-
nice one Bob
bet the inside of the building is all still in tact
with the muriels they had done
be cool there to go in one more time
shame they were forced to sell.
still love to have those old gates of theirs from East Hill
well prehaps just the sign then
look nice in my loft !! :D
-
i got to Physio in the building next door twice a week Kev, i keep meaning to climb over and have a look.
-
last i heard Nosnod
Paul was gonna sort all his OS gear out and get it on the to his website for sale
i guess with the move he forgot about that idea & the bill didn't get paid and the domain lapsed
best to ring but they don't have much OS in there any more Paul has most of it i believe
-
Bob let me know and i come with ya
crow bars and all !
-
I presume then by the comments on this thread that OT cycles have closed down??
Have they reopened somewhere else??
-
the shop they have now is the original shop
not sure how long they have been there but def late 70's on
when bmx took off in ealry 80's they opened a much bigger shop on the other side of town
and it was just for BMX.
the bigger shop caused a local councillor hassle (cos he lived next to it) by all accounts
and he tried for ages to buy and or shut them down
when bmx faded in late 80's i think they shut the big shop down
and eventually sold years later to the councillor.
bob neil rich etc please correct or add to this.
-
i think they still own the lease on the place

I agree, I have that book, has a good intoroduction in the routes of the UK bmx scene
-
another classic is by Don Smith the EX trial bike champ
who was involved with the UK scene with Malc Jarvis
thats about the real early UK scene must of been written in 1980
we should scan these books and get a RAD library going like Eric has over on

bob do they still have any old photo`s or poster`s in window or in shop as always cool to see the history . i know of a shop that has a couple but he won`t sell them ,he rather let them fad by the sun than make use of them
-
Far as i know the inside of east hill is as it was. Have we got enough old school rides to fill the place up a bit and have the only original old school bmx shop as it was back in the day.
-
Neil
thats the ultimate restro job ! :)
if Paul / Dave do still own it
do you reckon we could blag half hour in there one day ?

Think this will answer your questions - (http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/y119/KuSam/superstore0001.jpg)
BMX Superstore Stockton on Tees.

I asked Dave if he had any old photo's answer was no :(
The building looks a right mess, the roof is full of holes and all the windows are smashed.
