Title: Is this a uk supergoose/what is this ;)
Post by: dj_benice on October 20, 2007, 01:22 PM
One for you goosey experts :)  Appears to have been stamped on the BB shell but looks like someones had a go at it.  Has the numbers 03 on the flat single hole brake bridge which you can just about see in last pic.  So any ideas what it is and what its worth (need to shift stuff at the minute no room and no money ;) )

fark fark fark .......
thats the frame i have been looking for !

I had one of these many moons ago, and if i remember right it came in pea green also.
from previous questions that I have asked in the past it does seem like it was a uk goose.

If you ever want to sell it please tell me as i want it

Thats not a uk supergoose i'm afraid, uk gooses where all chromo fames. if you look where the seat stays line up with the top tube, you will see that yours are slightly higher then the top tube, which means the rear triangle is steel and not chromo  :( the seat stays on the full chromo ones where the same hight as the top tube.  :daumenhoch:

Cheers fella, just leaves the question so what is it then ;)   Would tube measurements help, or stripping it and weighing the frame?

Apparantley the UK one's didn't, was a quite large thread about them a while back from what I remember which was why I questioned what this was ;)

The first supergoose 3, sold in the UK in 1983 was the same as the us one, proclass geometry and size tubing with the 3 holed rear brake bridge. Then in 84 they replaced the supergoose3 with full chromo Califrames stickered up as supergoose3's  :daumenhoch:

Hope that makes sense.

thats a cali i reckon you can tell by where the welds meet at the top of the seat tube, the chainstays are higher than the toptube on a super they are lower
