Title: Mt superfox
Post by: thesku11s on October 20, 2007, 09:34 PM
got this a few weeks ago for, only just had it out today for a ride-around.

Ive heard they are not worth a fortune, and all the copy parts are lacking something.

But the frame & forks are lovely! (its really light & rides superb!)

100% cromoly so mustve been decent.

I love the details like the brake bridge & dropout style too.

It is a all original survivor bike (as far as I can tell) so I thought I might ask on here if anyone wants it as if im keeping it im going to change it a lot and get rid of all the parts.

I paid twice what I usually paid for my bmx "finds" and dont wanna give it away if you wanna buy it off me.

If your interested, let me know and well work out a price or swap together (as I have no idea really)  :daumenhoch:

I had the Silverfox BITD and I loved it. I changed all the parts on it as well though. I also snapped the downtube on two frames just below the gusset so be carefull doing jumps. I'd love that one but am skint at the mo....  :'(

My second bike (first bike was a Burner - YUK!) was a Silverfox. I worked so hard potatoe picking and doing my paper round to fund it!. i loved it. My mum took me to Chevin Cycles in Otley, West Yorksire to purchace it. I upgraded the seat post to a Renthal. My mum took me racing begrudingly took me racing the next day at Murton, York. She was against the cost of it all but loved it and took me to races all over the counrty for years to come - thanks mum!

I changed the Silver fox frame for a second hand Hutch Pro Racer as I got more serious. I sold the frame for £35 to a local in Harrogate who also snapped the downtube! He sent it back to MT and they replaced it.

I though the Superfox's of that era had 3pc cranks? I could be wrong but my friend Stuart Anderson has a Superfox which had anodised black parts - including the creaking 3pc cranks.

Good memories of theose bikes though.

i think there was a couple versions of this superfox, as some of the other ones seem to have a headtube/downtube gusset.

Would any of you want it?

I really an old school hack to customise and mess about with,

this bikes all original though.

I know its not up there with your haros & hutches

but Ive seen early 90's "universal panthers" go on ebay for £80

this is an all orignal 80's well made 100% chromoly f&f in extremely good condition.

So must be worth £150?

cmon... non of you sentimentalists want it?

happy to take all sorts of swaps.
