Thats not my one Orb...I'm at work and mine isn't on photobucket.

Mike, my Team Pro was raced by a girl called Paula Dibben????

It has no serial numbers on it anywhere - did the factory riders use Tange built frames from Japan or where they custom made??

Here's Paula's (mine now) old bike....exactly as it finished it's last race I think....

Their dad took all their bikes to a shop and got about £100 for the lot I think...the team pro, a ripper and 3 more bikes I think he said.

How the chuff did she manage to lose her pedals in a race!? :crazy2:

Didn't someone on here build a replica of Mikes bike?  And wasn't there a question somewhere of him having had it custom built and someone wanted the details....it's some time ago now.  :-\

Gods honest truth I saw one of those just yesterday, all sprayed matt black (including Tuffs, white showing through on the braking area) It was outside a newsagents and was being used by the paperboy to deliver papers,I saw the sweep of the bars, stopped the van and walked back to take a look, I wondered what it was??

I would kill to have my old aero pro back, it was stolen in 87, by some piece of shit vermin who lived down the street from me. I was absolutely bereft. We got the police involved, and it went to court, and did I get my bike back? Did I bollocks. I couldn't prove that I had bought all the individual components, such as the Robinson Expert bars, Araya 7x's, black kashimax etc. It was decided that this scumbag could have bought all these bits himself, and the fact that he had chosen a 43 tooth sugino front chainwheel in silver and a black powerdisc to mount it on  (with exactly the same wear marks on the back of it where I'd forgotten to put the washer behind the cone), was mere coincidence. BASTARDS!!!!!!!!

That aside though, I remember the aero pro as a lovely bike to ride, really light and handled superbly. It always amazes me how much people say they are crap, just because it's a raleigh. I think that frame and forks is easily as good as a TA. I would love to have another, and a tear does form in the corner of my eye every time I see a pic of a nice team colour aero pro, just like my old one. Sniff sniff, sob sob  :'(

I still really want another one. Never appreciated mine bitd. Wasn't I the arse.

As it says below I still want one, so who's selling.

I might be persuaded to let the Patterson go for one if it came up. And my Patterson is now looking good.

They are both gorgeous......I can feel myself welling up again...... :'(

My aero pro didn't have the Burner sticker on the down tube though, mine had the Team Raleigh sticker instead. Could this have been because my f/f came straight from the factory?

Yep, we think the ones with Raleigh stickers on the down tube (from new) were factory bikes...I know mine is (the top one) as it was Paula Dibben's bike, she was a factory rider and No3 in 1986.
It has no serial numbers and does not have Tange on the bottom bracket.

Ahh.... that explains it... mine never said Tange on the bottom bracket, or had serial numbers either. Hence when I went to court about it, I couldn't prove the frame was mine.

The sticker on my frames downtube said "Team Raleigh", like on the pad, and there was no sticker on the top tube. I am not sure but I think it also came fitted with a black headset, not enammeled, but a sort of black chrome.

I seem to think the headset on mine was just a normal looking beartrap 2 style one, but in a smoky chrome colour. Could be wrong though, 18 years since I last saw it.
