Title: Best Chrome cleaner??
Post by: Swivel on October 28, 2007, 12:49 PM
Hello lads, got this very lovely survivor Ammaco may have seen it, but it has a few spots of light rust nothing too bad, but I have this Autosol and its just not removing enough. What is the best chrome / light rust blemish cleaner you know and use?

Thanks,

Matt  :daumenhoch:

T-cut and wire wool works well. but try on a small area first incase it is too harsh on your chrome, I did a MRD found in the dump and it came up great.

Tcut - carplan chrome trim polish or in opinion Peek or Autosaol - don't use too much as it takes a layor of finish !

So is diesel a 'no go' then? I find it gets the rust off a treat! Like on levers & seat runners,  but is a bugger to get behind the springs of an ACS Potts 2 lever. Have then used some 'revive' muti-purpose cleaner: got it from one of them Top Gear/BHP shows on a stand similar to the Mer Man. Just found it & it says no acids/caustic/smells. Works a dream & tastes great! Gary  :)

i use brasso or autosol or even wd40. just depends what the condition is before you start.

the best chrome cleaner is usually a person rather than a product
they all work well, with the right amount of effort!

autosol is a safe bet. brasso for a high shine after that
