Title: dishwasher theory!

hey guys,
just lookin for a quick confirmationas to whether putting mag wheels in the dishwasher is a real thing?
anybody done it?
does it work? - without melting them
and is there a link to a topic on vintage bmx or something about it?

I originaly suggested this theory about 3 years ago on vintage.

Yes, it works!

But,

there is no substitute for a good bit of elbow grease, there is no real easy way to clean tuffs.

good to se u active on burner website,
ive done a week of elbow grease, scrubbed bleach an peroxide so im gonna finish off with dishwasher.
tell me the benefits?
defo not melt them?

Dishwaser works a treat. Put all my tuffs in the dishwasher, brings them up mint. Obviously won't bring faded ones back to life but gets all the shit out from inside the hub. Also, if replacing the bearing cups, put the cups in the freezer over night and as soon as you take the wheels out of the washer, fit them. They push straight in without having to hammer them in and damaging the hubs. Hope that helps. So, no the dishwasher won't damage the wheels.
