Title: new school advice

I'm looking for my first new school and went to my
bike shop today.
they have in stock a felt ethic for £170
what are these like are they any good? 
will I be ok  turning up at the skatepark
with one?

They both have short top tubes and the Fit isn't in stock.  Winstanleys rule #1, if it's not in stock you'll never get it.
