Bitd I only ever had 1 piece cranks, so I think they are much more era correct. It was only factory riders who got three piece..

Looks good Dan , there's a certain honesty about OPC builds & I'm looking to use one on a build in the future  ;) .

Bitd I started on an OPC but saved for 401's and used the same set ( apart from one arm replaced under guarantee after cracking it over Coxmoor triples ) until I stopped racing .

If you look through the old BMX mags, you'll see a lot of racers used opc on cruisers...

Cool bike :daumenhoch:

Tis the truth, Tim March used to use a 1pc on his cruiser.

Harris, I might have an era correct set of pads for that cruiser as this is when I rode for Robinson, 88/89.  If i can find some i'll chuck them in with the s&m ones to make up for the delay.  Are you racing that sucker?  I've got a couple of race jerseys left too.....

That's very nice....I'm partial to 1 piece cranks,(I never managed to step up to 401's BITD..)

That's a great looking cruiser you've got there Dan  :daumenhoch:

I've always preferred the 3-piece set up but I seem to be fitting and riding more and more OPC's now  ???

None of the people I rode with BITD had Flites or Profiles - they were too expensive!

I had some gold Suntour 3 piece cranks which had to tighten up before/after every ride.  And the closest I got to proper 3 piece cranks were the Sugino cro-moly 3 piecers which had the spider that looked like Redlines, but the arms looked nothing like.

Even when I bought my first BMX bike as a wage earning "grown up" (S&M Holmes from Custom Riders) it had one piece cranks on there for a while until I went to the US and bought some Redline Flites from Trend Bike Source.  Damn, I was almost 30 before I got my first set of Flite cranks!
