I read a thread earlier where Iain (phatom photon) said ...wet n dry or an oilstone
Has anyone ever used this on a chrome frame that has pitting?
What is an oilstone and what wet and dry grade would you use.?
Surely it would scratch the chrome?

What he said .......as i need to do my stem :)

read ya thread mate if the tuff neck stem was yours. ;)

You can try the old wives favorite method of using tin foil with a bit of wd, or also the Brasso wadding works well too.

I like it. Keep it coming.

I personally wouldn't use wet n dry or an oilstone on chrome. I would only use them on alloy where you want a polished finish (See pics below) :daumenhoch: If the chrome is badly pitted probably the only option would be a full rechrome.
I have used a very fine wire wool (0000 gauge I think!) with autosol on chrome frames with some minor pitting and have had very good results :daumenhoch:
