thanks mate.
that candy was applied straight over the nickel after a bit of a polish. the nickel was shot when i got it, but tell tale blue inside the gusset and in the welds told the story that it had indeed been candy blue early in it's life.
lazychubs, sorry for the high jack ;)
-
Here is another Candy Blue Goose, my '78 DeCoster.
I applied a Metalic Silver base with Candy Blue over the top.

right call me trev(was a looptail) lol
why are the down tube stickers on the top tube ???
-
i've gone collecting mad :'( first thing i thought when i saw that was, i would love to get a set of those forks still in the box. When you start wanting box's then it's getting a bridge to far for me. I'll have a word with myself.
-
right call me trev(was a looptail) lol

thats where their supposed to be on earlier models
check the catalogues, think they dropped down on the 81 - 83 models which have the stepped rear drops
oh and also with that decal - the color stripe to the front is the red one NOT the orange one
you'll lose points for that ;D

mines a 1978, which is where they put them on the early ones. i guess frame pads weren't a big deal back then.
-
I did my 81 in red :)
