:-[ I AM A37yr OLD O/S BMXer! NOT MID SCHOOL! SO NOW I'VE GOT THAT OUT THE WAY CAN ANYONE HELP ME? THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS I BOUGHT A 2ND HAND MACH1 GT, WITH A PISTON STEM AND A SET OF RACING GT SANT ANA FORKS, AND VARIOUS OTHER BITS AND BOBS, BUT WHEN I ASSEMBLED THE FRONT END I FOUND PLAY IN MY FORKS, NOT UP + DOWN BUT SIDE TO SIDE SO I ASKED A FEW MATES AND THEY SAID " ARGH U NEED A 1" 1/8 HEADSET YOUVE GOT AN 1" ONE ! SO I WENT AND BOUGHT AN FSA 1" 1/8 HEADSET FOR £30 NICE! BUT IVE JUST TRIED TO PUT THE twat ON AND THE CUPS ARE TOO fookIN SMALL FOR THE FRAME AND ANY OTHER HEADSETS I'VE GOT THE BOTTOM RINGS ARE TOO SMALL FOR THE FORKS! HAVE I GOT AN OLD TO MID SIZED FRAME WITH A MID TO NEW SET OF FORKS? AND DO THEY SELL A HEADSET TO SAVE ME PUTTING A PAIR OF THREADED FORKS, AND A QUILL STEM BACK ON THE FRAME! OR DO I HAVE TO SELL THE FORKS AND THE PISTON STEM? PLEASE CAN ANYONE offer ANY SOLUTIONS AS ITS PISSED ME WRITE OFF! THANKS, REGARDS motomag! [ VESPA T5! ]

caps lock off! :daumenhoch:
just to clarify the front end. does the stem clamp on to the forks rather than the old shafted system and have the forks got any thread on them
if it is a full clap on system with no threads on the fork then it will almost certainly be 1" 1/8' up front.
the bit thats baffling me is that the 1" 1/8' cups are too small for the frame
does the bottom ring from the 1" 1/8' headset fit on the forks

:)thanks for that! just read through sorry the cups are too big [ too wide] for the frame, and yes they are threadless forks and yes the GT stem does clamp round the forks does that help? Ta.

:) yes the 1" 1/8 ring does fit. Ta.

Sounds like you have a 1" frame and 1 1/8" forks.....
