Title: New rear brake for new gen Ripper
Post by: Weeksy on November 28, 2007, 06:40 PM
Hi dudes,

Just about to get my Ripper F&F powder coated (will be white / baby blue, haven't decided yet) and I want to get a new rear brake ordered in for when it gets back.
My choices are an anodised blue version of the original Tektro with matching lever, or one of the new polished silver Shimano set ups.

I rate the blue tektro as it fits in with my colours, but the Shimano is top dog on the quality front eh?

What do you reckon?

Thanks

Weeksy

Are they V Brakes?

If so, go for an Odyssey 'A' Brake - nice and neat and look the nuts. Or if you can stretch to it a PAUL set up would be awesome.

Any v type brake will fit,
Best are Pauls but ££££££'s
Cheapest Qdyssey A brake
Shimano do loads and are the industry leaders and also look at Avid as they do some funky brakes too  :daumenhoch:

 :) DINGO :)

Thanks for your comments fella, much appreciated.

Looking at the Avid brakes, I like!!

Just a real shame they don't do them in colours!!

Thanks

the only colours that Avid used to do were titanium or copper.....not sure if they do em anymore though?

dam good V brakes though! in the dry they're as good as any disc brake!

here you go!

But when you can get the normal digit 3 for £7 posted you just can't beat that!

I've been trying to get hold of chainreaction, but no joy!

I like the SL range, so will go for one of those, if I can through to someone.

Prefer to call before, so I know how long I will have to wait for them!!

THey do Graphite and Copper still yeah, but I want blue, or silver, so will go for them all being well...

Thanks lads
