Post by: Steve P on December 01, 2007, 11:10 AM
I'm after the paint code for that lovely candy red I've seen on various Hutch and SE Racing builds  :smitten:

Can anyone help please  ;)

I believe candy is a red clear-coat over silver/polished. Ask Mr. Radman he did that Trickstar I had and it was beautiful.

You're right Dave ... I'm pretty sure the candy colours use a silver base  :daumenhoch:

A decent metallic/mica paint match would do the job TBH ... I should've mentioned that in my 1st post really  :-[

Thanks for that Steve ... I've already got a painter, I just need the colour code now  :daumenhoch:

Not to worry folks ... I'll have a cheeky look through my painter's colour guide to find a similar match  :-\

if you go into any decent car paint shop and ask to look at the house of color or kandy paint catalouge you are looking for apple red, i have some paint left over, i will try and get to my sprayer to get the code for you, DO NOT powder it as it is not candy, candy red is like a metalic paint, you cant get the correct finish with powder, i can coat a frame set for £75 plus postage, lmk if you want me to do it

Kandy paint doesn't have an official code!

house oof kolor only produce 20 kandy colours each has a name, not a code.

i posted this in an old thread if any of it helps. (at the bottom)

candy paint does normaly contain a pearl effect to it, it either glimers gold or purple under strong light.

for me i went for transparent red on a super chrome base coat from caswell plating as i don't want the pearl effect,
i think they can supply for spraying as well.
