Title: Dyeing Kuwi pads
Post by: Swivel on December 04, 2007, 03:17 PM
Just got a frame/bar padset somehow in Yellow (bloody hard to find), but can you dye these any colour or will it ruin them? Not sure i fancy yellow, would prefer black I think. LMK, ta

Matt  :daumenhoch:

P.S. After a stem pad, was some worldwide on the bay but gone now...  :-\

Ok mate thanks for this... I'm tempted to try it out on the stem pad i have as it isn't the original one and isn't a kuwi pad but came with this set, so maybe worth a go. Has anyone else tried dyeing padsets?  ???

matt I tried using dylon black on a repro stem pad I got from the bay.

it did work, however it tainted the kuwie logo a bit grey.

however that could have been down making the concentration too strong or leave it in too long

give it a go. I mixed up the whole sachet so maybe 1/2 would do.

let me know how you get on as I may have another go if you get it to work ok

Will do mate. These pads are repops so have printing on them which I don't think would be picked up by the dye. I'll try out a stem pad and let you know...  ;)
