Anyone bought one and drilled a hole through the heart to make it look like the Kuwi version  ???

I've seen it suggested, and i've also seen it mentioned if you do this you end up with a hole that's too big and not in the right place. but since you are looking at a replica, I reckon it'd be ok.

iv bought a tange hotheart am gonna give it a miss in drilling the heart out, its easy and possible, the hole on kuwahara is slightly bigger than 1p and its 22mm. its easy to drill it out but i just rather keep the heart as there is more ET kuwahara than the heart frame itself. if you wanna drill it out to make a replica thats grand but if you wanna sell it on just make sure you say it isnt a genuine ET frame

Nick....i'd stay with the heart as you've already got a proper ET  :daumenhoch:   they're lovely frames IMO and i'me sure it'll look the mutz nutz mate!   :daumenhoch:

I want to do something a bit different with some parts I have that will look like nothing seen before, however I don't like the heart !

I would not drill and sell on as if it was an ET as the frame is different any how  :daumenhoch:

have to say i love all Kuwis!  i'm not really into the old stuff at the mo but i wouldn't mind one of those Kuwis!   :smitten:

it's a totally different frame. a proper hot heart is full cro mo, an ET is trimoly. or to put it another way, half mig'd brick. full tig'd flyweight
