Shame innit?
-
I had a few Mental Jimmy's stickers but I lost/used them. :'(
-
I think I have got some Mental Jimmys stickers still.
There was an HLP Video that came with some free Mental Jimmys stickers in the box. I bought the Video of someone at Southsea KOC. Im not sure who it was but they had a very thick Irish or scotish accent and I could bearly understand a word they said. Anyway, I think my Video has still got the stickers in the box! Now that is SAD!
-
I bought that vid! Wasn't it Will Smyth? Think I got mine from Will, also bought some stuff from Mental Jimmy's and got some free stickers.
-
I think the Vid that came with the stickers was "the smile on my face is splitin me in half". It was one of Will Smyths Vids and on the box it was called a "jive" video. I dont think it was Will who sold it to me, but I remember the " .... something something something ... Mental Jimmys ... something something something ... Jail Cell Recipies ..." sale pitch that won me over.
Also, the back cover of the Video has a picture of our very own Clive Gossling doing a lookdown at Brixton skatepark.
Oh, I just went to look, my stickers aint still in the video box! haha.

Laz, have we been one step behind each other for the last 20 years? How come I had never met you till this year?!

Crazy i know! We existed all that time in the same small community! I did have the Jive vid, but didn't they put out a Holy Land Pros vid too?
-
It's Laz. He's a stealth bomber I reckon. I've had the self same conversation with him in the last year. We must have stood shoulder to shoulder at a load of jams and stuff, but never knowingly met him till Epic the other month.
We all know you Alex, coz you is like famous and stuff!!!
-
Yeah, I was expecting to find an HLP Vid but I couldnt see it.
Maybe THATS the one with the stickers still in it.

ya, if Laz had a dopy hair cut or wore long socks we would all know him too!!

Well I never wore long socks in the 90s but the hair was pretty dopey!

Im sure one day I will see a photo of Laz riding from the 90s, or a background shot of him at a comp and I will say "oh HIM, I remember THAT guy". The thing I am worried about is that if I see the photo and I say "oh HER, I remember that GIRL .... didnt we ....?":2funny:

 i did have long hair but I wasn't pretty! I did show up in an astonishing amount of mags! Loitering!

So Laz, you must be in the crowd in that Backyard photo of Hoffman doing the no hander on a very very dull wet day. Featured in his book too. You there?

Get scanning! We can have a "background" thread. It could be like wheres Wally and we have to spot whoever posted their background pic

also I visited Mental Jimmys in 1993 - it was in McGoos garage in Huntington Beach
-
I only got special priviledges (sp) at KOC. I was a peasant everywhere else :(
Alex, Did that minibus have a roofrack on it? If so, I think I remember you lot bouncing that minibus to hell and back... And the Inbred gang had a sofa on the roof of their Tranny.
-
I bought a TNT stem, set of chrome peregrine rims and some spokes from Mental Jimmys in 1994 (JP took me into the garage to get them). I built my first PE front hub with the the rim and spokes.

Right, now keep this thread about MJs!
-
I think I got a TNT stem, some profiles and GT tyres from there
also a t-shirt that read
'if you want good parts go to Mental Jimmys, if you want something different masturbate with your left hand'
-
that shirt was the best! yellow with brown print, i pestered jp for one but he wouldnt even sell one to me.. i bought profiles from mj and snapped them after a few months, every time ive spoke to jp since, i remind him of this fact and ask for a refund.
