This may help...?

I'd a LOT of trouble with an old ody freecoaster a while back that kept slipping Dan.
Turned out I'd greased it so much that the grease was preventing the clutch from getting any friction against the internals to engage.
Any chance something similar is happening here?

i will clean it all up tomorrow and give it another go,yes that might be the problem.
-
ive just took a washer out of mine as wasnt working
as not much tolerance so back to 3 washers
-
Make sure that there is no grease on the inside of the clutch and on the tops of the ball resistors.
also check that the brass mounts are not damaged, mine were and it made the hub slip.
-
i need a new axle and clutch as somehow the ball bearing housing got marked and the
ball bearings wont spring now to resist, the washer thats the first to make the coaster gap
has slid onto the adjusters damaging them ,so i will order both partys from flatland fuel.
