i think that is the best i have ever seen him ride! on the flat anyways

not sure how competitive he would have been at the time, but that is some top old school flatland

nice and smooth, but 90% of those tricks would have been at least two years out of date if it was 1988.

Saw him do a very similar routine at the Velodrome that year and it was just a joy to watch. I think he won too.
There's somethin' about watchin' a true professional at work that does it for me. He's just so smooth and controlled and obviously at one with the bike - most of the flatland "pros" of today would laugh at this, but then, I think that's the problem with flatland today - too damn serious and too damn technical. Nobody can relate to it anymore.
I have to say that I think Fiola shows what bmx is really about - enjoying yourself and doing it with style.
