As if one isnt enough I've bought another 06 Sport, I could'nt really turn it down at only £100!
I've been subtle with its extra's this time, going for black wheels, a layback and an Aitken Odyssey seat. I was going to change the tyres to some Primo monsters as pictured below but I think the originals look better, what do you lot think?
This bike will be my park bike and the other one with the tuffs will be just for pottering about the town leering at women!
I've got some new bars on the way and will stick a picture up when there on.

Rob, it's gotta be the gumwalls, they just look classic old school. I go with the Lamellos on my Ripper and now have 'em on my quad aswell. Can't beat the gum wall look.
Ditch the all blacks.

I got them ebay.com, you can get them from Winstanleys which I discovered after ordering these from the states! Doh!!
I still saved few quid which is ok.
-
Cheers fella :-)
-
it honestly baffles me why you bother with these bikes at all,
you cant polish a turd.
-
you cant polish a turd.
PMSL, evening Joe!
-

PMSL, evening Joe!
i just wish someone would explain it to me!
so i know!
why do you have them?
what do you use them for?
its like watching the X-factor to me, i should be positive and happy for them , up there seeing their dreams come true.....
but it still makes me feel a bit fooking sick. (smilie)
-
Joe....I've never asked you this before so I don't know......how old are you dude?
Daz.
-
35 going on 12 (fooking smilie)
why?
will you be my dad? (another smilie)
-
enough of the land rover already! its my "fook-truck" (sick smilie)
anyway,
these haro's,
why?

Fook knows Joe......I just wondered how old you were - lol!
If I get one it will purely be for popping to the shops on, going to the park with kids on, you know just general fooking about instead of using my proper rider or an old school ride. For £100 you can't really not have one, the parts alone are worth more than that. That's what I'd have one for anyway.

ok daz, i can accept that, like something to fook about with, tweak and work on,
and i suppose at £100 you can still spend a bob on it and not break the bank,
they still irritate me though!
crazy eh?
go on though be my dad!
-
well I love them, they ride really nice, got a platform (which I miss off bikes now) cheap, look like the old sport, the list goes on.
My 88 sport is lovely but too weak to ride, this I can ride all day long.
I really do love em!!
heres my black one I've just finished, probaly not going to ride it.
heres my new white one, I'll put pics up when is finished hopefully tomorrow, this is my current ride, just back from the painters and just put the stickers on.
I fancied reversing the stickers that people are used to, dont think its as nice as the black one but its going to get ridden so I dont really care!!

White one looks nice George, be good to see a pic when its finished mate.
-
cheers fella, hopefully tomorrow if all goes well.
-
wombolts!
on a retro haro sport!
ffs.
-
why not? I wanted a mix of old and new and I'm not using them at the moment.
-

you could have just bought a decent frame and a set of stickers for not much more!
even if you put gold plated aerospeeds on it it'd still be essentially......
wank.
mutton>dressed>lamb.
-
i like the frame, it rides for me better than my more modern frames (fly and federal).
why do you hate them so much? its only a bike.
-

i felt it a sub standard representation of what the original was,
and its a heavy sheaply made bike with bad geometry.......
made by "haro" or whatever theyre calling themselves these days! premium? fusion? whatever?
what do you use the "platform" for? (rofl smilie)
-
I like the geometry, like I said, i prefer it to ride than some of my newer frames, I ride a lot of flat and like having the platform there for some of the older moves.
I agree that it could have been better when it was released, but now its nice and cheap and my black one is how I would have liked to see it. I wouldnt have ( and didnt) pay £270 quid for it when it came out.
I also have an 88 sport i'm working on and a 88 master that was given to me, the master had the usual reweld on the seat tube plate and the dropouts have been modded to get rid of those crappy platforms, not the strongest frames out there but they did ride nice, didnt they?
-
Joe.
There's many reasons why I like the sport. Unlike most of the members on here I dont have any bitd memories, I wasnt into BMX at all, not one bit. So I guess I dont have any feelings about whats better or worse in BMX that would be based on any history, I only know what I like the look of. I like the sport because its cheap, not a bad spec, arguably looks good (and can be made to look better relatively cheaply too) and its (for me) different.
Sure I could buy a genuine 88 sport, but if I did I'd be absolutely mortified if it got so much as scratched...this bike allows me to do things I just couldnt/wouldnt do with my o/s collection...that's important because I do want to try what everyone else here has been doing for years...looks like fun and given all the crap life throws at us I really could do with some of that :daumenhoch:

Well said Ray.

right heres the chrome one after its repaint...
Not as good as the black one but its my current ride so Im not too bothered.
Thanks to all those who helped form the board, damar signs (01628 524 652) for the stickers at a very good price, and to H+S enamelling (01895 233 251) for the paint job.

Nice George mate, I think the white one would look better with the tuffs and tyres from the black bike. ;)
-
proably right there, but i ride the white one, wouldnt fancy trying to ride on those tuffs, dont know how i managed on em for all those years in the 80s!!!!
-
How about losing the discs and fitting a set of white walls like the Haro ones on my Sport?
-
could do.
ive got a feeling the back wheel isnt gonna last long, khe reverse, never been properly ridden, already been repaired once and already making noises and slipping.
may see if it gives up.
whitewalls eh? i thought they were as rare as rocking horse poo!
-

pm on way mate. ;)

You can get the Haro Multisurface with whitewalls but in my opinion they're more like gray walls, still look pretty cool though.
Daz. :daumenhoch:
