Title: Help on what bike
Post by: Frosty on December 12, 2007, 11:08 AM
a friends missus called and asked what bike she could get him for £100 or there abouts for Xmas.

He has been eyeing up the ramp over the park and to be honest I'm not sure what she should try and get. The 06 Sports do look like a good mix of os style and ns, but for £100 I think I'm struggling to help her.

Anyone have any recommendations or know of something that is or may be for sale??

Cheers

Paul

£100 ain't much is it. Guess a second hand bike would be the best bet.

Maybe something by Mongoose, Blank, Diamond Back?

There's a Mongoose on the bay for £95 if she can pick it up from Hungerford.
it's pretty low end but for a mess about on a ramp it might do.

I know, what he would love would be the Super Tuff Burner re-release as it was apparantly the bike he lusted after as a nipper

But she can't stretch to that.

I have been looking on the bay and in the various classifieds but am struggling a bit at the moment.

if he wants to go on the ramp on the park then something that already has park tyres on would be the way to go I guess. £100 isn;t much, can't she combine his b'day pressie too and go to £150 - £170?

that'd be much  better, maybe a Haro F2 delivered for £150?

DIAMOND BACK VIPER is a good ride for just over the ton - bought my son one earlier in the year and its proving indestructible.

Might be able to get the 2007 model on a good deal - ask zippy if he has any available - he's a raleigh and diamond back retailer - might be able to sort something out - i know there not hardcore but would beat getting messed about on ebay or having to go to Halfords

Have a look on the Cyclesport web site, they're doing Haro Mira 540's for £150

if you can't get one of the 06 sports then you can't go far wrong with a 540

Perv's seem good quality, were british made, not sure if they are now, I nealry got one, but went for a mirraco instead. some people think it's an off putting brand name...I quite like it. lol. (it ranks up with the Kink - Whip)
