Title: S&M ALEX
Post by: YGT on December 16, 2007, 11:07 AM
are you gonna enter a bike for this year?

I dont really know anything about it, Id def not thought that I was going to.

I dont really think that I have got any "Show" bikes. They are all riders really and pretty scruffy builds at that. The only bike I have got that comes close to a show bike is my 24" widowmaker but I havent even cleaned that since I raced it at MK08!

what does "Best" mean Mark? Ive no clue when it comes to show bikes. Shat I PM you a list of what Ive got and you can help me out?

I took my NOS HAF to Creation and it didnt get a mention or photo. It might have been partly from the fact that I turned it upside down and plonked it in the middle of the show room. I dont think anyone had a clue what it was!

OK Mark, thanks. I might well do. I am just knee deep in Xmas cards at the moment. When is the closing date for it?

Alex, did I see that HAF downstairs at some point?

I'm sure I saw it and just assumed it was someones rider....

I've gotta say though, you've pretty much just summed up the whole midschool era right there.  Take your heavy as fook bike into the centre of a highly polished, quite anal (some might say) world of bling and just plonk it upsidedown right in the middle of it all!!

I like your style   ;D

Yes Rob, the HAF was rolling about at the end. Ray had a go ... that put a stop to the rad lad hopping about quite so much! He did do a 180 on it but I dont think he managed the 360 he wanted to do. Yoda had a go on it too, which was funny cos he used to ride one for real!

It was my mates dream bike. He couldn't wait to get his hands on one. I never really got on with it when I rode it though - seemed to handle funny to me.

I didn't realise Yoda was there, I would like to have met him.

Nah, missed all that. Think I was upstairs trying to get warm.  I remember coming down and seeing the puddle.  I only recall you, Laz and SBD knocking about near me.

I saw Yoda but never got to speak to him, he looks exactly like he did 20 odd years ago!

I don't remember him from the old days, I packed up in 84 - quite early I suppose. It's only since I've been on here that I've come know him as quite a big name in the sport.

I dont think its about show quality (or at least i hope not)
otherwise it will be another hutch, se or skyway that wins using the same generic high end parts in a different colour combo that wins

OK, the Widow maker is in there. Its not really my fav bike but its the bike that I have got the best photo of.

Havin said that, listing out all the parts makes it look very nice. Maybe it IS my fav bike!

Christ, that looks short.......

Its a custom 18" top tube frame. No idea who asked for it or what it was intented for but it was found in the UK in a shop about a year ago, so it never got to the short armed dude who wanted it.
