Mm, loving my new Kivik too :smitten:. Might give it another jet wash this weekend....

Good cars for lugging the bikes about in as well. I can fit my 24" and my 20" in the back with the seats down without taking any wheels off :daumenhoch:

Mike,
How does the new Type R drive?
We had 2 of them before the latest model, really fantastic car. We replace our Type R with an Accord Type S, goes like stink too is a lovely drive, wish they did the Accord in a Type R though.
I've got the 1.8 model Civic and I get about 40mpg, no idea what the Accord does...
-
does the rear spoiler get in the way of your vision?
priv
-
In a word YES! but it's not too bad i guess.......the Civic rear seats fold upwards as well so you can roll your bike straight in cos the floor is flat.....it's magic! :daumenhoch:

The spoiler is good at blocking headlight glare though :)

that's true! i can live with the poor rear vision as it's such a lovely car to be in! :smitten:

Type R is a lot of fun to drive. Suspension is hard, but only really a problem for me when I go over speed bumps.
The biggest pain is the noise on long journeys and filling it up (about £43) every 265 miles.

Yes, so much so that as I was driving to Braintree on Sunday (at quite a bit more than 70mph + 10% + 2mph ;) ) a police car was happily tailgating me until I noticed him and pulled into the middle lane. Fortunately, he just shot passed and took the next turning off the motorway.
It is good for blocking out headlights. But I'd rather have an unobstructed rear window, a rear wash wipe and be able to see fit birds in cars behind me, than that spoiler!
95% of the time, the spoiler doesn't bother me though.

This is ours , had it for over 20 months, great fun, love it.

Apparently the old shape Type R is faster than the new shape!
Hows that work? ::)
-
the new one is slightly heavier, also they only used a rear torsion bar suspension rather than full indipendant rear on the old shape......makes it handle much better in corners thus faster round the top gear track
