Title: OLD SCHOOL HOLLOW 1PC CRANKS?

I used to have some hollow 1pc cranks on my bike in 83,  trouble is its that long ago I cant remember what make they were, or where I got them, I think they might have been sugino but not sure.  Anyway never seen any around now, does anyone know of any??

Tioga max flo are a sweet hollow 1pc also  ;)  G.

Ultamax cranks were hollow too I believe; something to do with Robinson if my old brain remembers correctly?

Woody, i'm sure it was a typo mate but i think you meant Ultramax.  Only picking up on it in case someone trys to find out more by googling it.  To the best of my recollection, they were the first hollow OPC and bloody lovely.

Thanks mate, I did mean Ultramax. I thought the same as you that they were the first of the hollow cranks, came out in 81 or so, dunno how strong they were tho'?

I worked in a bike shop that had Landar Hollow OPCs. They came in a box with a clear lid and fake velvet lining (and a landar sticker). I think the box was probably stronger than the cranks!

Thun one piece hollow cranks were supposed to be good - according to the mags.

i don't know how strong either mate but they looked the dogs and yes, defo one of if not THE first hollow OPC.

I have a set of SR hollow's on my Aero Pro, raced them for a while BITD & they are still in one piece, still straight too  :shocked: ;D :daumenhoch:
