that's cool. but see what you mean by getting boring by the end. i guess there's only so much you can do on one of them.
there's a guy who goes to corby who rides one but not to that level...

What a load of cack, he should be riding with those scooter plebs :crazy2:
-
That was better than I thought it was going to be when I saw what he was riding.
Kinda like Trials bike riding meets freestyle skating.
Not very smooth or flowing tho. He should try taking off his brakes or getting a freecoaster :2funny:
-
Precisely.
I said on another unicycle thread that these - what did you call em Bill? - oh yeah, plebs ;D would only ever impress me if they rode a freewheel....
But now you mention a freecoaster. Game on!! ;) ;D

Did you see that clip of Kevin Jones riding a modified bike. It had what looked like a Uni cycle wheel and cranks in the forks of his BMX, but it had a freewheel cos he could coast on it. He was doing whip lashes but instead of front pegs, he used the front pedals ... and he did a half crank forwards with each whip of the frame! It was deff a freewheel cos he rolled along on each foot/pedal for a while as the frame came round, then switched feet. Then he finally caught the seat, sat down and pedaled away with the front wheel drive (I dont think the bike and any normal cranks on it). It really was very impressive!

I've not seen that, no. I like the sound of it though, his skills will never grow old for me :daumenhoch:
I did see a little bit of him riding a very low gear fixed wheel though. He did a load of Pat Romano stylee backwards spinning wheelie type things, in a very tight circle, cranking himself round the whole time. Cool as you like.

Unicycles can be a bit of fun - there was a guy who did circus stuff who lived across the road from me when I stayed near St. Georges Cross in Glasgow (early 90's) - he was out on his uni one day and me and Michael Reilly asked for a go. He'd seen us on the bikes and liked what he saw, but he freaked out when we both got on his uni and were riding about on it within 10 minutes! It was just a bit of flatland style balance to us, but it blew his mind. He said it usually took people hours, if not days to get that good.
Never been tempted to get one though - I prefer a squeak scoot - y'know, like the front end of a bike - just forks, bars and a front wheel. Used to make them when we were getting our frames sprayed up. Brilliant fun - great for practicing hang fives etc. You could do a whole routine on one, esp. if you had a front brake on it. It was a great feeling coasting down hills on them - used to freak people out!
I think that K.Jones unibike is a blast - looks a bit silly when he's pedalling it, but a good laugh. Wonder what he'll come up with next? in fact, I wonder what he's doing NOW? Anyone seen any recent footage of him? Wish he wasn't so reclusive.....
