still got the sticker eh? nice!
bit of trivia Al, those photos were taken by Rik Hall, Jive Five member and maker of fine numberplates and t-shirts. Other jive five member Will Smyth is DIG editor. Those jump shots were taken at a track in Belfast just near Wills old house......
So funny that Robinson were an out and out race brand and half of those shots are street, reflection of the era eh?

great pics :4_17_5: clive looking good mate ;) you had plenty of style mate :daumenhoch: thanks for scanning them up alex :4_17_5:

There is one page I held back on, but here goes. This was the inside back cover. Two of the top guys from the BMX track showing they had style for miles on the street. The story goes that Tom Lynch had to make sure his "Garbage" was covered up in all the shots because they were worried the shear size of it might scare small children. Im sure Clive can tell you more .... about the photo shoot, AND Toms package!

No, the whole of the eighties was a bit gay! Tom Lynch is well endowed, those shorts didn't leave much to the imagination so all teh studio shots had to make sure Tom's schlong wasn't showing. I, however didn't have that problem but that studio was pretty cold that day.....
For all you mountain bikers and REAL old schoolers, Tinker Jaurez was US national champ on these things........it was the next big thing that didn't happen.

In the double page picture with the guy doing the table top. What bike is it?
A bashy frame from 1989. It doesn't look familiar to me. Unless it was a one off?
Does anyone know? Just to cure my curiosity. :daumenhoch:
-
Looks like a square bashguard Master :-\
-
Defiantly not one of them. I have one. :LolLolLolLol:
On a 90 master it is one big tube from the down tube until its past the chainring. Then it's two tube to the seat stays.
I'm a bit stumped by what bike it is. I thought only Haro and gt had bashy bikes in 89. :)
-
There were bashy's in 1976 ;D

Dave lives in Manchester/Stockport area, still riding flat. As far as I know!
