Here's one for those experienced in freestyle setups...
Can you use a MX1000 front caliper in potts mod set up?
I was thinking of fitting a set of MX1000s to a StreetBeat that will be delivered shortly. I've just had a gander at the caliper I'm planning on fitting and it doesn't look like it is possible to switch the brake fittings to make a potts mod work - am I wrong?
Any help or advice would be very gratefully received, cheers :daumenhoch:

Yes it can be done, wait there & I will take a pic of how :daumenhoch:
Ok I think this is the best way to do it, as you can return it to a standard front brake after if you need to, all you will need is another Wieman adjuster.
You can drill out the quick release & then just swap the bolt & the adjuster over, but I think this way is better.

Hi all
This is how I remember it being done.
I always remember that the reason the quick release isn't used is because the cable is pulling from the other direction, and the forces can make the quick release open.

Chris, does that brake work okay, even doing endo's etc?

I had mine like that BITD & it worked fine for me, but I was only about 8 1/2 stone :)
But my days of doing endows are well over, so I can't really answer truthfully, but if someone wants to try :)

doesnt the top of the caliper stick up to much?clearance issues on certain bikes i know the top of calipers way shorter on the 880s for this reason?
