Easy question for someone who knows their newschool. The brake pads for my 990 brakes are not symmetrical, that is the mounting bolt is not in the centre of the pad, so one side of the pad is longer than the other.
Should they be mounted so that the longer part of the pad is in front of the brake caliper, or behind it? :santa_undecided:
-
in front at front behind at back!
-
Cheers Ruler. I should have stated my rear brakes are mounted under the seat stays, so I assume it is in front on both?? That is, the longer bit is on the leading edge when rolling forward?
-
yeh if what i said wasnt clear, run the longer part so it leads.
i reckon.
although i think my flatland bike may have come with the leading edge going backwards on the back.
i know for sure that the front brake's pads go forwards though
-
Cheers again Ruler, that's how I had them, but was not sure.. :-[
What flatland bike do you have? I've just finished building mine and off out to try it..

Built old style at the moment - will work up to the pegs/gyro/freecoaster/zero bars after some more practice!
-
where did you get it, i've been looking for a shop that stocks the new suelo line but had no luck so far
-
Mines a second hand 2004 from ebay.
Flatlandfuel.com will ship to the UK, or try PM Carlos Griggs, I think (I may be wrong though) that he is the UK Fly Distributor.
Extreme Sports display that they sell them, but I have never bought anything from them. http://www.extremesports.ltd.uk/bmx/fly-bmx-frames.htm
