A "pro" rider who totally did not live up to their expectations,ie bad attitude/poor treatment of their fans? I used to ride/skate at Chingford halfpipe way back, and saw a good deal of top level riders/skaters who were totally cool. One summer morning, me and some mates got there real early so we could have the place to ourselves for a while. After an hour,a skater-Lucien Hendricks turns up,and says to us "You groms better leave,I own this place". I`d seen him skate before and to be fair he was good, but as a person was a complete arrogant up his own arse twat!

I used to think Hollywood Mike Miranda was the sh1t. When I was racing in the states and getting good he was working for Vision Street Wear and promised me a sponsorship deal. He even signed a pad that I still have to 'clive, the hollywood of the UK'. I chased him a couple of times but nothing ever happened, flake.
I also used to really look up to Tim March, I lent him a spider at a race in Lowestoft and he promised me an MRD plate in return. I chased him down for 3 or 4 nationals until he remembered but I did eventually get it. We're good mates now and sometimes i remind him how he shattered the dreams of a young boy, he's not that bothered though, anyone that knows Tim will understand!
However, the number of amazingly cool people i've met has eclipsed these a million times over. I've stayed with guys, borrowed stuff, got stuff for free, had great, great times and forged many lifelong friends.
I remember racing a national in California and afterwards being invited back to Billy Griggs house to ride his backyard trails, stuff like that will stay in my head forever.
