Pics not that good I know, has 16 and 17 toothed cogs on the same freewheel.
Thanks

so do you have to run a whole gear changing mech and lever on there? Thats what it looks like as they give you a mech hanger. Hardly worth it for one tooth difference is it?
-
I think I've seen one of these or summat similar on a bike years ago. I'm sure the bike had fook all on it and the lad simply slipped his chain onto either cog and just lived with it being loose or tight.
Never saw the point myself.... ???

Your right not really worth it, I will never use it, unless I do a race show bike, something different from BITD. Think it was mainly for use out of the gate then changed gear and that was it.

It is used with a deraillour connected to a brake lever, you set off on the start gate on the 17 tooth sprocket then whem you are up to speed , then drop it onto the 16 tooth and away you go. :daumenhoch:

What Bof said. It was called a holeshot. Banned in the UK when I was racing in 1981. strange that when I started racing again we have fooking 21 speed full suss bikes allowed in :idiot2:

Any pics, says on the packet should only need 2 extra links in the chain?

I think shimano made it Gaz, do a google or have a look in bmx museum :daumenhoch:

That one is the ACS Holeshot system (I think/)
You need a short cage rear mech linked to a front shifter
when you come out of the gate you have a 17 tooth and when you are up to speed click the shifter and it drops to 16 tooth
OR you could use it on a cruiser for the beer run to make it easier on the way back :daumenhoch:
:) DINGO :)
