Title: mk15. its a few years away but my then midschool build is now ready. my ltf
Post by: Philbert on January 29, 2008, 11:15 PM
at long last my s&m LTF is finally built and ready to ride.

for all those wishing to do a build in the future of a bike from this period, follow this lead. though i still maintain a respectable seatpost length.

i've kept it simple but effective

frame- S&M LTF 20.5 in black zinc
forks- odyssey race forks in gloss black
headset- FSA impact internal in black
stem- S&M XLT race stem in nickel polished
bars- bicycle union in gloss black
grips- shadow conspiracy in black
endcaps- kink in ano black
brake lever- primo in ano black
cable- odyssey linear in black
brake- odyssey evo 2 in black
seat- united integrated in black
seat post- FBM integrated in ano black
seat clamp- federal in ano black
front hub- odyssey vandero 36h 2 in black
front rim- primo balance 36h in gloss black
rear hub- bicycle union 36h hollowed 14mm in black
rear rim- primo balance s6h in chrome
spokes- dt swiss in black with black nipples
tyres- primo v monsters for park, comp 3s for track
chain- kmc in silver
chainring- profile imperial 33t
cranks- profile racing 175 in chrome with titanium axle
pedals- odyssey trailmix (jim cielencki) in polished

hopefully its worthy of sir alex leeches appreciation! haha!
and just maybe i won't be dead to old carol!

i've never in my life taken so much care over a build!

Looking good there Phil, very nice.

OK, DSD time (since he aint here)
I dont like the stem. It looks really really high and with it being silver it stands out a mile. I also dont like the chainring. It looks like a grind disc cos its almost solid!

I do love almost everything else. Infact, that is the hub set I have been toying wtih getting for ages. Can you post up some better pics of the front hub and wheel bolts? Id love to see it better. I was going to get Sun city lite rims but exactly both those hubs.

The high seat doesnt look bad at all. What is the distance from the BB to the top of the seat? Its bang on NS but still looks very "mid".

Shame its not your "main" bike any more really!

Never been a particular S&M fan, but the LTF seems to have caught mine and everybody elses attention.  They all seem to look cool to me, Phil's one appeals because of the setup   :daumenhoch:

looking sweet phil  :daumenhoch:

it is much better in the flesh though and cant believe what it weights, a gnats fart would knock it over.
Just you be careful on it  ;)
