There were 5 Holmes frames (I think). 3 one inch ones and 2 "Oversized" A-head ones.
What one is it you are lookin at?

Yellow is a good start. The classic Yellow Holmes!

Find out the headtube/fork size cos that will make a MASSIVE difference. The 1" ones are getting hard to find now, esp the earlier ones. See if its got 990 brake mounts on the frame cos the early ones didnt.

My guess is that if its got Alex rims on it then its a 1 1/8 Holmes with 990 mounts, maybe even the heavy duty "Next Gen" Holmes. They are both very nice bikes but they dont sell for loads so dont get ripped off.

See what forks and stem its got. Pitchforks and a redneck will help make a nicer package, esp with the slam bars that are on it.

That yellow Holmes is the utter dogs.

There was someone on here that had a really cool mid school yellow bike that was one of the nicest bikes I've ever seen. Can't remember who it was though.  :-[

Could you get him to stand a little further away and take the pics?  :LolLolLolLol:

That is a "Oversized" 1 1/8th A-head Holmes. Looks like pitchforks too. The bars could be a pair of slams and a pair of Castilos but its hard to see. I cant tell what the wheels. stem or cranks are.

The frame and forks are way nice, very good rider. It will be heavy compaired to modern bikes but its not the very heavy "NG" Holmes. It'll make a great trails bike or a heavy duty race/track bike. It will even hold its own on ramps but the back end will be a bit too long to be totally at home on a mini ramp.

They dont sell for very much, usually around £50 mark (no idea why they dont get more, they are great frames)

Hope that helps

They started doing the Over Sized Holmes in 95/96 and it was pretty much unchanged for years. Id take a guess at late 90s, but its hard to be sure.
