Maybe a stupid question too!
BUT........... Why do the cranks take different size pedals. Anyone know?

Sounds as easy as the definition of a looptail...... :LolLolLolLol:

I was always led to believe it was just a size and strength thing. 3 piece cranks wre an upgrade in every way, pedal axles included. :)

I think its cos you have:
"Normal" size pedal; 9/16, that every type of bike uses
Then you have the USA, opc, Large BB, Beach cruiser 1/2" pedal (Beach cruisers heavly influenced/evolved into early BMXs).
