Title: A bit of advice needed please
Post by: toooldforthis on December 13, 2005, 10:59 AM
I joined this site back in the summer and have been back to have a look a few times (loving the updated site btw, good work fellas) but not very often, although I've now got a few old bikes - 85 Haro Sport, some dodgy Haro Groundmaster from about 89 (soon to go on the bay), a totally original Tuff Burner bought for £8.00 from a car boot sale, a white 84 TA and a Looptail PK, and now I've just gone and ordered two of them unpainted Street Beats from Ginny  :idiot2:

I'd like to try and get the TA and Ripper as close to being original as I can - were these originally sold as complete bikes or just F&F?

(any red bits for sale, anyone? - I need wheels, crank, stem, pedals, seat, the whole lot)

Also, what's the chances of lacquering (or something) over the unplainted street beats so they retain that bare metal look, rather than paint or chrome them? reckon that'd be the nuts if it was possible?

Cheers in advance!

Paul

i too was thinking about the raw metal look for a beat. depends how the metal is tho, some are quite rusty.
