Was driving through Bicknacre yesterday and saw a black warrior go past with the BMX 1T number plate, anyone know who it is?
-

Ooooooooh, this sounds interesting ???

That plate has been about since BMX began in this country, Don Smith used to own it. He was a motocross/trials legend and mongoose team manager. It now belongs to Craig Schofield :daumenhoch:
-
I believe that plate is owned by Gossa unless he has sold it. he bought it in 95 from Craig Schofield if I remember right
-
Ratty right i think schofield has it and i'm sure i've seen it on his warrior at braintree :daumenhoch: craig not crain tone :D
-
It must have been craig then. He was heading in the direction of Rayleigh.

BMX 1T numberplate by gossa on Wed May 30, 2007 11:37 am on BMX Talk
Don Smith did indeed have it on an old Granada, Craig Schofields dad bought it for him when he won the Worlds in Canada in 1985. Craig had it on various vehicles but the most famous being his Capri that his dad also bought him for winning the worlds. Rumour has it that his dad promised him a Porsche if he won but they couldn't get Craig insured on one so he got the Capri and the plate instead.
I bought the plate from Craig in 1995 and have had it ever since. I might put the plate up for sale but I promised Craig that I would offerit back to him first if I was ever to sell it.

Gossa must have kept his promise and sold it back to Craig. Top man :daumenhoch: So Ratty appears to be correct. :LolLolLolLol:

I'm after BMX 151T (Hence the name!!).
Was on a cool VW Golf Convertible Rivage, late 80's at Perry Bar BMX Track.
Reads BMX IS IT - loved it then - want it now!!
Not huge number plate fan but I always remember seeing it thinking it was the coolest thing ever! 8) 8)
-
very close is bmx 11t which is a mk2 rs2000 escort with an all steel harris pinto 8)
-
I sold BMX 1T back to Schofield last July. BMX151T is owned by Paul Spurr, ex UKBMX chairman and dad of former race Inc rider Jason Spurr. Paul wont sell it, he's minted, he was talking about buying an Audi R8 and putting it on there.....
-
mm R8
but wont fit many bikes in that lol
-
An R8..................and the numberplate!!! even more jealous now than I was 20 years ago!!
-
There's a website (RAC I think) where you can check number plates and what car they're on. I looked up BMX 151T last year and it threw up a blank (i.e. vehicle not found/number no longer in use).
I'm waiting for MW 01 BMX, cos it's the closest I'm ever gonna get to an 01 plate ;)
Currently have M888BMX, which signifies my usual place in the motos ;) (well, it used to, I've got a little bit quicker recently and sometimes manage 4th place moto finishes).
-
Another one that was available a few months ago was M155 BMX. Was gonna get it the wife for Christmas but didn't think she would appreciate it!!
It was pretty reasonable too.
-
Paul has BMX151T on retention so it's not on a vehicle currently.
You would be very upset if you knew how little he paid for that BITD.....
-
In the early 90s John Pratt had A1 BMX . He said it was only £100, he had it on his crappy white escort (?) van.
-
I'm going to see if it works the other way around, anyone fancy coming to a HN05NRL race?
-
Sorry for the ancient bump, only I saw BMX 1T on a black warrior just up the road from Bicknacre in Danbury this morning!
-
I still want M155 BMX as a wedding present 4 the rad other half :smitten:
-
I've got N10 BMX, now with yellow and white screw covers, so it reads, NIC BMX :daumenhoch:
-
Is that on the silver car with the 'welsh and proud' rub on just below the plate? ;D

Would that have been Craig Schofield I saw driving then?
-
YE52 BMX was on ebay a couple of weeks ago for £450...
-
isn't Trev's plate MI55 BMX?
sure he has something girly, strangely had a conversation about it this weekend.
-
Mine is R70 BMX, R for Rob 70 for the year I was born. The Mrs bought it for my birthday a few years back :daumenhoch:
