Title: trickstar resto under way
Post by: kowalski on February 21, 2008, 05:59 PM
bought a jap made white t/s f+f from dan-dare a couple of weeks back  :daumenhoch:
on first inspection i was struggling to find the serial number and even the hutch sign on the rear bridge, next i noticed some pretty rough weld on the rear bridge and really hit panic mode  :'(
anyway after reasurance from dan himself,(cheers mate) i did what all handy buggers do and reached for the polisher
BEFORE

AFTER

MUCH BETTER me thinks  8)
so now its paint time, off to superbike dan!!
after a couple of pms he assures me that there are at least 2 layers of powder so it will need blasting before paint...

this is how it came back, dans version of candy red, and i must be honest this job is flawless, he even managed to lose a small dent underneath the chainstay  :4_17_5:

hutch sign is back and so are the serial numbers phew
so until del does my decals i started fiddling and putting a few bits on,

and lastly i wanted to try and give the new school flights a little make over, so with help from del (decals) advise from mark j (bolts) and my trusty flex vari speed polisher( on washers and bearing cups) this is the result

hope you like it and finished results to follow  :daumenhoch: ps pics seriously do not do justice
