so if i am running a 13t freewheel on a 24 what do i need on the front

a 30 would be OK,

and the largest most new school rings go up to now is 30  :daumenhoch:

Stevie B had some lovely 30t Sprockets for £20 posted, got one on the way for my son's bike.
