Title: power disk & chain alignment - eh ?
Post by: kdw712 on December 21, 2005, 12:38 AM
so xmas hols started today & i had some tinkering time  :santa_afro:

i began happily bolting bits on and then i tried to set up the rear wheel for the chain etc
i noticed it was rubbing the stay and that it also had a offset between freewheel and chain ring

oh crap !   :wtf:

so after a lot of fannying around the only solution is this ......

chain ring inside the power disk which looks pants frankly

so whats wrong ? i can't get the disk any nearer the BB or do i need to look at the free wheel end ?
or give up and buy a 43t tuf neck sprocket and bin power disk  :santa_cry:

help ............

Put a washer on the inside of the chainstays (one each side to keep the back wheel central) this will spread the rear triangle and give you clearance.

Cheers

andy i have a washer on the freewheel side which has helped
guess the disk will have to stay that way  :santa_cry:

Rakas got the pitbull from cyclesport they are £6.50 along with the ACS boa's - bargain !  :santa_afro:

not sure what free wheel is but chain ring is sugino,
bottom line is this - the power disk is where the chain ring should be  :-\

having ridden it today i may wanna lose the 180 cranks for 175 which will allow me to sort it once and for all

om that note :
any one know if flight 2 & monster crank arms share same size splined spindle at all
save me looking - lol  :LolLolLolLol:

Bob - top tip there, that was one idea i had last night with the poxy thing.
