Shame that event isn't in the Olympics, and the torygraph had her down as former BMXer the other day.
-
..and she didn't get the best of starts. Apparently one of the bleeps didn't sound and it messed with her start routine a bit. Been watching this every night.
-
i've been away and missed all but the first night
when she came 7th and wiggins got a gold
sounds like they done good

You can catch it on BBC iPlayer.

I went over to the Velodrome yesterday afternoon and there was some great racing.
Come the evening and it was fecking amazing!
The atmosphere was great. Whenever a Brit was on the track a load applause made up of cheers, clapping, banging of seats and haudings would follow the rider around the track. It was electric. To see so many great performances form individuals and teams was awesome!
Shanaze's best race was her qualifyer by far, cant remember whether they put up a course record or a world record but it was a record all the same. She has only trained for the past 6 weeks for this event so event her poorer lap in the final was proof of her pace and ability. She loves BMX and the track is a bit of a chore for her. in many ways she glad its over as she can get with the action and get rad on her BMX again.
Shanaze rocks!
