couldn't say off the TV but i remember seeing Mason Smith at Bowes lion park in Stevenage many a time.....and boy he was super smooth on that shiney Gen1 :daumenhoch:
-
I'm in agreement with Heywood. Saw Blyther up in Brum for the second Kelloggs and he was smooth as silk.

-
Sir Bob
-
what kirk and fat head said....haro was the king of smooth

-
U.S. and overall would have to be Blyther....U.K. for me would be Dave Young...really the first UK rider I saw who was super smooth. First time I saw him ride was when I was riding at a comp in Washington (Tyne & Wear not U.S. lol) and there was me doing 5 foot by 5 foot airs and I watched Dave in practice and thought, wow, the geordie fella's not bad is he!
The Hudson bro's were a smooth bunch too and Carlo and Jason Lunn also.....CC and loads more but Dave stands out in my mind.
Daz. :daumenhoch:
-
Brian Blyther was very smooth! He did a show in Belgium with Ron Wilkerson and they blew me away!
-
Terry Jenkins...........the smoothest i have ever seen...top man :4_17_5:
-
I was lucky enough to have a ride round with Bob Haro BITD at the NEC 1983 super smooooooth :4_17_5:
-
Jamie Morley
-
I'm liking this
Ben Dickinson
-
USA-Blyther
UK-Dave Young, CC always seemed smooth enough
-
Terry Jenkins and Bob Haro's riding were so similar, I reckon if Terry hadn't of been goofy they would have been hard to tell apart. Both extremely smooth.
-
cheers for the compliments guys :daumenhoch:
Terry Jenkins...........the smoothest i have ever seen...top man :4_17_5:
Ive got to go with Dinodog on this one cos I know Jenkins has transfered his smooth riding skills to his chatting up women efforts these days....his patter is so smooth its almost sickly!
To say he's slick is an understatment........ ;D
-
I'm liking this
Ben Dickinson

Its funny after talking about stupples on this thread but do you remember that trick Ben did which sarted off like a stupple but after 180 he started sliding forwards with the bars still at 90 and one handed, it was soo nice.
-
yeah, i remember that on bmx beat. not quite a stupple but was as smooth as.... :daumenhoch:
i still think that macky's boomerang in 85 was as clean as it gets. and he was only 12 at the time. :4_17_5:
dave young on ramps was the smoothest i'd seen in the uk in the mid 80's
after that, Carlo was really smooth. Even riding today, I think he is probably one of the smoothest riders i will ever see.
-
eric steele .......
-
Without a doubt...
Carlo Griggs
Dave Young
Steven McIntosh
Jason Hassell
Mick Hudson
Smoothest Ramp riders ever......
-
Good shout on Jamie Morley, top bloke, very smooth. Spoke with him not so long ago, recovering well still, but will never ride any bike properly again :(
Im sure there was never anyone as smooth as Blyther, last time I spoke with him he said Bestwick was the smoothest rider EVER! Thats quite a compliment!
-
Graham Marfleet was smooth and totally underated.
-
Ramps -
US - Blyther
UK CC
Both slick as cats
-
Of the people I used to ride with John Povah was pretty smooth as kid at least :daumenhoch:.
In the UK it had to be Neil Ruffell and Craig Campbell, US Bob Haro and Eddie Fiola ;).
-

i am still in contact with jamie morley and i will concur his flatland was very simular to that of scotty freeman very smooth and effortless
-
blyther' n dave young not bad yourself but don't want u
to think am kissing your ass mate ;)
-
Saw Glynn Lewis at Gillingham in the early 80's and have to say he was seriously smooth and getting 8ft + air
UK Overall for me Camps was the smoothest by far.
USA Fiola was the man :daumenhoch:
-
UK - the boy Lunn - no doubt...
...but then there was this bloke we met at ROM once in '84 no idea what his name was - came from Canvey Island, had a Skyway - did the smoothest 7' airs I ever saw in the P Bowl - screwed/boned every second air he did but pulled every first one perfectly! - anyone remember him?
US - Bestwick
-
Ralph - why do you say US for Bestwick? He ain't no yankie........ ;)
-
Bestwick.... :Great_Britain: ???
-
Defo Dennis McCoy for flatland and Brian Blyther on ramps, Blyther was like frickin glass, i have never ever seen anyone else who comes anywhere close to being as smooth as he was.
-
Wait for Old Fools 5 and I'll show you all what smooth is....hahaha!
-
Carlo Griggs is/was smoother than a Gillette Mac 4 or 5 6 or when they bring it out a 7!!!
End of thread me thinks.
-
Yep, Carlo is as smooth as you can get. You may come across riders who are as smooth, but not smoother.
As far as smoothness goes, you can't get better than perfection itself. :4_17_5:
-
Ralph - why do you say US for Bestwick? He ain't no yankie........ ;)
'cos he may be from Derby but I doubt he has set foot in Blighty for years... whatever, we was remarkably smooth when I saw him - landed everything no more than 6 inches below the coping
-
the fonz, not only was he smooth he was cool too

No im pretty sure Jamie gets over here fairly regularly, sure I read a post recently which refered to someone bumping into him and his family whilst shopping in the UK ??? Plus he does a good job hanging onto his accent whilst making the most sarcastic/ironic comments when commentating on the Dew tour comps. Most entertaining
